Matt's 33rd Birthday

We had a picnic in the back yard after church
Matt worked on a new bow for the girls who broke the first one he made
Then we wen to the park and flew kites and played frisbee

He opened a present at the park so we could play with the pocket disc

And of course the required German Chocolate cake

We hope you had a great day.
We love you Matt!!!

New Year's

Our little trip to Austin

We swam at our hotel, twirled under a giant tree made of lights, ate cookies, played at the park, and rode a train with friends.  Happy 2014!

Odds and Ends

Here are a few more pictures we took in December

How do you eat a cucumber?

One afternoon we made some sparkly snow dough out of cornstarch and oil

We also met up with Santa at the Zoo.  We ate cookies and rode on a train with him.
Instead of playing in snow in our front yard, we hung out in just our jammies and blew bubbles.

Christmas 2013

What fun!

Tired Matt?

 My new shoes, love them.

Carlee has colored everyday since Christmas morning with new gel pens in her cool coloring book.
All the fun didn't just wear Matt out.

We Skyped all morning with my family, ate yummy food, napped and ended the day with a drive around to see Christmas lights.
We didn't have time for a campfire in the back yard Christmas night, so we did that the evening after. Things got really messy with Dani and the toasted marshmallows.
We went on a little trip to Austin for New Year's, pictures coming soon as well as pictures of our trip to Enchanted Rock for Martin Luther King day so stay tuned!

Christmas Eve

We made Cherry Tarts for Santa,
and then went to Sea World.
Carlee and Dani really enjoyed Snow World there,
and got to sit on Santa's knee before he had to take off for a busy night of flying and giving.

Our last stop before heading home was a train ride eating candy canes from Santa (apparently I was pretty excited).

When we got home we had a candle lit "picnic" eating foods similar to what Jesus would have eaten (kind of) while we watched the animated Nativity Story in new Jammies from Aunt Natalie.
We ate a few of Santa's cookies and then left him just two with some eggnog.  Carlee thought that was rude of us to eat most of his cookies but I told her not to worry, that he would be getting plenty from all around the world!  And we didn't forget to leave some carrots for the reindeer.
